Hi guys,
Well what can i say. this was one of the best weekenders i have ever been to.
for me it started when jamie trundell rang me up and ask if i would come along and sell some of my books. then to my amazement 2 days later he phones back to ask if i would play some of my choon’s on the friday night at a prime time of 10.30 till midnight. well eyerything was fine but i had nowhere to stay. untill 3 guy’s from oxford turned up at the Sounds Of Soul event which i was running with my frends Yogi & Chriss.
The first words Dell from Oxford said theres no way your slepping in your car, your in with us. well, what a fantastic crew we had in our chalet. as soon as the boys arrived Maz starts cooking a big beef stew. these boys really know how to look after there selves at weekenders and i cant thank them enough for having me aboard.
What made this weekender so special wasn’t just the company i was keeping, it was the way the event was run ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT. 3 rooms one dedicated to the conisseurs of northen soul. one dedicated to the sounds of motown and last but not least one dedicated to enything goes. and it was like the handcuffs were taken off the dj’s all sorts of soul music was played i even started my set with LOVE THEME by LOVE UNLIMITED ORCHESTRA. the choon’s varied from OTIS REDDINGS MR PITIFUL to todays sound of THIS IS WHAT YOU ARE. MARIO BIONDI.as i was selling my books in this room. this is where i stayed untill midnight. then with the floor calling me i would slide the unsold books under Steve Jefferies record stall. and head for the northern room. where i would dance to every record played. until the night had finished.
THIS EVENT IS A MUST TO PUT IN YOUR DIARIES. DO IT NOW LAST WEEKEND IN NOVEMBER. YOU WON’T REGRET IT.
just like to say a big thank you to everyone concerned with the weekender. bar staff, promoters, doormen and anyone i have missed out.
and thanks to everyone who bought my book hope you enjoy the read.

It was a brilliant weekend!! The first I’d tasted..yeah!! We have booked Hunstanton for next November!!
Loved the dancing and music. Loved you Reg and all the crew who made the event possible.. Keep a spot in your dance diary for me! Especially your jive!!! Flippin brilliant!! Hope to go to local gig at Rugby Club-Luton on 20th Dec. Will be a bit late but hope to have last couple of hours..

Having been and played at over 50 weekenders in the last 27 years inc Caister, Soul village and Southport i can categoricaaly state this is in my TPO £ of all time, musically as Reg says outstanding. Cant wait til next november. And as LITTLE REG (bless you my brother) says if you are SEARCHINGFORSOUL get to this weekender you will not be dissapointed.

Cant believe that this was only the second EASW @ Hunstanton and yet it had that great family feeling!! Me and Tony Fernandez had a great time Dj’ing in the main plaza Sat night, it was so friendly in every room and it is going to grow into a MONSTER, thanks to everyone there…and well done tp Jamie and the team x

Thanks to Tony and his advice on the day – I am booked for next yr. Reg there is ALWAYS space for you. Sarah and nightmurse will no doubt be there too – we need some Reg Bryds t shirts 🙂
Fantstic weekender everyone – my first soul ‘do’ in almost 12 years!!! My first steps back were a revelation….overwhelmingly fantastic atmosphere. I spent most of my time in the northern room (I would) and popped into the other 2 now and then. Almost impossible to get on the dance floor Fri night – it was absolutely rocking and oh boy am I going to get ready for next year!
What a boost! You made my year 🙂

Well lets put it this way Mr Trundle as been trying to get me to come to one of his events so we went over to the Cairn Hotel in Harrogate what a great night it was – so we are now going to the Hunny weekender – see you all there come and say hello ( just look for the Cream hat ) you will know me and STF ( Spread The Faith )
